Shakes are a great way to help your toddler enjoy fruits and veggies. To do this, keep the flavors simple and basic. You can start giving shakes to babies from 6 months old and up. Replace a plain glass of milk with a shake once or twice a week. This will add more nutrients to your toddler’s diet in a fun and tasty way.

Healthy shake recipes that your toddler will love!

1. Papaya Shake for constipation

Papaya Shake

This rich and creamy shake made with ripe papaya is a great way to give your toddler vitamins A, C, and E. Papaya is also helpful for relieving constipation. If your toddler often has constipation, try giving this shake twice a week. It’s best to offer it a day before a holiday or at the weekend, so your child has time to adjust to normal bowel movements.

Ingredients:

  • Cold Milk – 200 ml milk (dairy/ plant based)
  • Ripe Papaya – 100 grams/ 1 cup
  • Dates powder/honey – 1 tbsp

How To Make:

  1. Peel and wash the papaya.
  2. In a blender jar, add the diced papaya.
  3. Now, in this jar add the milk and dates sweetener.
  4. You may also substitute date sweetener with honey.
  5. Blend this into a fine shake.
  6. Pour this shake into a sipper or a glass or as your toddler likes it to be!

 2.  Avocado shake for weight gain

Shake with a creamy texture and a nutty taste, is often liked the most by the kids. This shake is enriched in omega-3 fatty acids and DHA, which helps in weight gain and brain development in the little ones. Try this shake at least once a week, if your child is advised by the pediatrician to gain weight.

Ingredients:

  • Avocado – 10-15 g
  • Peanut butter – 1 tsp
  • Honey – 1 tbsp (or as required)
  • Milk – 200 ml (dairy/plant based)

How to Make:

  1. Cut the avocado and remove the seed.
  2. Peel the avocado and wash it.
  3. Cut it into small pieces and put them in a blender.
  4. Add cold milk. You can use dairy milk or non-dairy milk like rice, soy, or almond milk. Non-dairy milk makes the shake smooth.
  5. Add honey to the blender.
  6. Blend everything until smooth.
  7. Pour the shake into a sipper bottle or your child’s favorite glass. Enjoy!

3. Chocolate shake for fussy eaters

Chocolate shake

A teaspoon full of grated chocolate over the top of the shake makes it the loveliest shake for kids. This shake is filled with the goodness of bananas, peanut butter, and chocolate of your kid’s choice.

Ingredients 

  • Banana – 1 medium-sized ripe one
  • Peanut butter – 1 tsp
  • Jaggery – 1 tbsp
  • Unsweetened Cocoa powder – 2 tsp
  • Milk – 200 ml (dairy/ plant based)

How To Make:

  1. Peel and cut a banana, then put it in a blender.
  2. Add cold milk. You can use dairy milk or non-dairy milk like rice, soy, or almond milk. Non-dairy milk makes the shake smooth.
  3. Add peanut butter and cocoa powder.
  4. Now add jaggery.
  5. Blend everything until smooth.
  6. Pour the shake into a glass and garnish with some grated chocolate. Enjoy!

4. Veggie shake for veggie haters

Veggie shake

Ingredients:

  • Carrots: ½ medium-sized, ripened ones
  • Beetroot: ¼ th piece
  • Spinach: 2-3 leaves
  • Apple: ¼ th piece

How to Make:

  1. Peel and wash the carrots.
  2. Chop the carrots, spinach, and beetroot.
  3. Steam them until they are soft enough to press with your fingers.
  4. Put the mixture of carrot, beetroot, spinach and apple in a blender.
  5. Blend everything until smooth.
  6. Pour into a glass and serve!
