FAQ

1. What are freeze-dried baby foods, and how do they retain 97% of their nutrients?

Freeze-dried baby foods are an effective and nutrient-dense way to feed newborns since they are prepared by extracting moisture from fresh ingredients without sacrificing their natural nutrition. The food is first frozen, and then it is put in a vacuum to remove the frozen water by a process called sublimation, which turns ice into vapor without melting it. This keeps the food’s nutritional value and structural integrity intact.

Here’s how freeze-dried baby foods retain up to 97% of their nutrients:

  • Minimal Heat Exposure: In contrast to conventional dehydration techniques that include heat, freeze-drying takes place at low temperatures. Heat-sensitive components, like vitamins and antioxidants, which are frequently destroyed by conventional processing techniques, are preserved in freeze drying.
  • Preserving Natural Flavors and Nutrients: Freeze-drying preserves the original flavor, texture, and vital nutrients of the food by eliminating just the water content. This keeps the food more close to its original, fresh form.
  • Long Shelf Life Without Preservatives: Freeze-dried Foods have a longer shelf life. Spoilage happens because of moisture, sice, these products lack moisture, they naturally hav a longer shelf life without the need for preservatives
  • Easy Rehydration: By simply adding water, milk, or formula, freeze-dried infant food can be easily rehydrated and restored to its original form while maintaining its nutritional value.
  • Are Sproutling’s products ready-to-eat?: Indeed, ease of use was a priority while designing our freeze-dried baby food. Simply add some warm water and mix, and they’re ready to serve right away!
2. Can I use Sproutling’s freeze-dried meals while traveling?

Of course! Sproutling’s freeze-dried baby foods are convenient for on-the-go feeding because they are lightweight and portable. They simply require to be warmed up with some warm milk or water!

3. Can I mix freeze-dried baby food with formula or water?

Yes, you may rehydrate freeze-dried baby food with warm water, formula, or breast milk to give your infant a smooth, appealing texture.

4. Are Sproutling’s meals safe to serve cold or at room temperature?

For rehydration, we suggest warm water or breastmilk. Sproutling’s meals can be offered at room temperature after rehydration, giving you the freedom to accommodate your baby’s preference.

5. Can I take Sproutling meals on flights or long trips?

Indeed, Sproutling’s travel-friendly, lightweight meals are ideal for road trips and airplane travel. There is a zip lock on our pouches. To preserve freshness and prevent moisture, simply add the necessary amount of the product and zip-lock the pouch. When you’re ready to feed your baby, just mix the product with some warm water or warm milk that you have in a thermos.

6. How often should I breastfeed my baby once solids are introduced?

Continue nursing while introducing food once the child is six months old. As your baby grows, progressively increase the amount of solid food you feed them on demand, typically two to three times a day.

7. What portion sizes should I give my baby when introducing freeze-dried meals?

For every meal, start your infant with 1-2 tsp of rehydrated food and work your way up depending on how hungry and how much your baby needs. Refer to the meal plan shared with each box according to the baby age.

8. When should I introduce water to my baby?

When a baby is six months old and starts eating solid foods, they can start sipping tiny amounts of water, but their primary source of hydration should still be breast milk or formula.

9. How can I introduce new foods to my baby?

To watch out for any possible allergic responses, introduce one new meal at a time and wait three to five days before introducing another.

10. How do I know if my baby is getting enough to eat?

Regular wet diapers (6–8 per day), and steady weight gain are indicators that your baby is getting adequate nutrition.

11. When should I introduce common allergens like peanuts or eggs?

You can begin introducing common allergens, such as dairy, eggs, and peanuts, around six months. The risk of allergies may be reduced by early exposure to some foods, but you should always see your pediatrician, especially if allergies run in the family.
